Applying for Residence as soon as possible to avoid being waitlisted, You do not have to be admitted into a program at RDP before applying.
RDP Residence is currently full for the 2024/2025 academic year. New applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
Apply in 3 Easy Steps!
Individual Full-Time Students
Step 1: Create Your Residence Account - Only for New Students to Residence
After clicking the link above, enter your MyRDP login credentials (username and password received in the email you applied with).
- Once you have logged in, this will securely send your contact information (first and last name, Student ID and personal email address) to our Residence Housing System.
- We will then create your Residence Account to begin the application process.
This process can take up to one hour to complete.
Step 2: Residence Portal
Log in to the Residence Portal.
- Click Login in the right corner.
- Click Login with an external service: RDP-Student SSO Login.
- Enter your MyRDP username and password
- Click the Applying for Housing Tab.
- Select the appropriate application to begin your application for Residence.
Step 3: Pay Application Fee
This fee is payable online through the residence portal to complete your application.
Apprenticeship Students
Step 1: Create Your Residence Account - Only for New Students to Residence
After clicking the link above, enter your MyRDP login credentials (username and password received in the email you applied with).
After submitting your information, the system takes about one hour to create your account.
Step 2: Residence Portal
Log in to the Residence Portal.
- Click Login in the right corner.
- Click Login with an external service: RDP-Student SSO Login.
- Enter your MyRDP username and password
- Click the Applying for Housing Tab.
- Select the Apprentice Application with the dates that match your course dates to begin your application for Residence.
Step 3: Pay Application Fee
This fee is payable online through the residence portal to complete your application.
Family Students
Step 1: Create Your Residence Account - Only for New Students to Residence
After clicking the link above, enter your MyRDP login credentials (username and password received in the email you applied with).
After submitting your information, the system takes about one hour to create your account.
Step 2: Residence Portal
Log in to the Residence Portal.
- Click Login in the right corner.
- Click Login with an external service: RDP-Student SSO Login.
- Enter your MyRDP username and password
- Click the Applying for Housing Tab.
- Select the Family and Couple Housing application and begin your application .
Step 3: Pay Application Fee
This fee is payable online through the residence portal to complete your application.
Continuing & Professional Education Students or Non-RDP Students
If you do not have MyRDP Credentials
Step 1: Create Your Residence Account
- Visit the Residence Portal.
- Click Non-Student Login in the left corner.
- Click 'New Account Registration'.
- Fill out all required fields.
After submitting your information, the system takes about one hour to create your account.
Step 2: Login and Apply
- Log in, using your username and password, to the Extended Education & Non-RDP Student Login.
- Click the Applying for Housing Tab.
- Select the appropriate application to begin your application for Residence.
Step 3: Pay Application Fee
This fee is payable online through the residence portal to complete your application.

The personal information that you provide on this form is being collected to register for a system user account, and is being collected in compliance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act of Alberta, Section 33(c).
Your personal information will be used for registering, applying, rooming and payment for residence units/accommodations.
Application Dates
Individual Full-Time Students
October 1: Applications open for the full academic year (September - April) and the Fall Term (September - December)
November 1: Applications open for the Winter Term (January - April)
February 1: Applications open for the Spring and Summer months (May-August)
Apprenticeship Students
Apply after you have registered for your course/intake.
Family Students
You can apply year-round to be added to our family waitlist.
Residence Fees
All domestic (Canadian) applicants are required to pay a $40 non-refundable application fee to process the application.
All international applicants are required to pay a $60 non-refundable application fee to process the application.
This fee must be paid online using Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
If you currently live in Residence and want to live in Residence for the next school year, you may apply on or after October 1 for the following year. Residence staff do not assume you are coming back. It is your responsibility to re-apply every year.
Roommate requests can be made in the 'Roommate Request' tab on your application in the Residence Portal. Roommate requests must be mutual (you must request each other on your applications)
Waitlist
Residence fills up quickly the best thing you can do is apply as early as possible.
If you are not immediately accepted, you may wonder if it is worth putting your name on the waitlist. Most definitely!
Contact us throughout the summer to confirm your waitlist position. If you are still far down on the waitlist by mid-July, consider off-campus housing through our Students' Association (SA) or other sources.
