We’re happy you’ve chosen Red Deer Polytechnic! The first step for you to start your journey as a student is to review programs offered at Red Deer Polytechnic.

On the program webpage you’ve chosen, confirm when you need to apply and if your program is available for the Intake Term you wish to begin your classes.

Domestic Students

Ready to submit your application? Follow the steps below.

Submit your application through Apply Alberta. On this website, you will find a list of items that you need to gather before you start your application process.

On the Apply Alberta application, you will select Red Deer Polytechnic from the list of available post-secondary institutions.

After selecting Red Deer Polytechnic, you will continue the process using our forms. You will select your program and term, pay your application fee and complete other details for your application.

Look for an automated email from Red Deer Polytechnic and log in to MyRDP (formerly called TheLoop) to review your application status.

Continuing Education Students

Ready to register? Follow the steps below.

Select your program or course.

Confirm if it is available by visiting the Course and Registration page, selecting the course to see if it is open for registration.

Select your course, select "Add to cart" or "Begin Registration", sign in or create a profile and complete registration.

Once your registration is complete, you will receive an email confirmation as well a receipt.

If you need to cancel your registration for your Continuing Education program or course, please read the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Apprenticeship Students

Already a registered apprentice and ready to register for Technical Training? Follow these steps.

Ensure you meet Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) eligibility and entrance requirements for your desired skilled trade.

Want to Be an Apprentice?

Review apprenticeship information provided by Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) with the Government of Alberta. It is important to note that, to become a registered apprentice, you will need to meet the current AIT requirements for the Trade of your choice.

Once you have become an apprentice and are ready to register for Technical Training at Red Deer Polytechnic, complete the three steps detailed above.
