Helpful Information for Registering
How to Change Your Program of Study or Major
Submit a Change of Program Application online through myRDP if you want to change your program for the following term or year.
Dropping & Course Withdrawal
Courses may be added or dropped from your student schedule on or before the last day to add/drop classes. Refer to the Academic Schedule for this date for each term.
Some courses may have non-standard drop dates. Check the course outline given out at the first class or contact your program Chairperson or Associate Dean for more information.
You may request a refund from the Cashiers’ Office. Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment. The processing of refunds does not start until after the last day of the drop period. It may take up to two weeks to process your refund.
Implications When You Drop Courses
Before dropping a course, consider the following implications:
- Will this affect your funding?
- Will this affect your full-time or part-time status?
- Will this affect your eligibility to graduate?
- Will this affect your eligibility to transfer to another institution?
- When will the course be offered again if you want to retake it?
If you are unsure of the implications, contact an Academic Advisor.
If you miss the deadline to drop a course, you are still eligible to withdraw from the course until a certain date.
Auditing Courses
Auditing a course means that you register for a course but you are not graded and do not receive credit for that course.
To enrol in a course at RDP on an audit basis, you must:
- Apply and be admitted
- Complete a course registration form indicating "audit" in the comments section
- Request the instructor responsible for the course to provide a signature on the form
- Submit the form to the Office of the Registrar no sooner than the last two days to register in classes as indicated in the Academic Schedule
Students enrolling in audit courses must pay the application fee, Students' Association, Material or Special Fees, and International Student Tuition differential, if applicable. Tuition and service fees will be assessed at 50% of the regular rate for the course.
You are allowed to attend and participate in class activities but are not evaluated on your class participation or assignments you elect to complete.
You will not receive a refund of any fees once registered as an audit.
Students who are 65 years of age or older can audit courses without paying the tuition portion of the audit fee.
