About the Solar Photovoltaic Systems

Red Deer Polytechnic has partnered with Stardust Solar to offer a unique program.

The online micro-credential is fully flexible to allow individuals to complete the theory in their own time (Part A) within six weeks. After completing the online self-directed learning at the learners’ own pace, with instructor support, the learner is eligible to attend a one-day course at Red Deer Polytechnic for hands on learning in our Alternative Energy Lab (Part B).

Part A - Asynchronous

This portion of the program offers an open enrolment strategy with asynchronous online delivery. You'll have 24/7 access to course materials through a partnership with Stardust Solar. The Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installation Masterclass offers 3 Solar PV Course Training in one bundle:

  • Solar PV Technolgy
  • Grid-Ties Solar PV System Design
  • Off-Grid Solar PV System Design

Part B - Hands-On

In the hands-on portion of the course you will work together with other students as a group to design a small micro-inverter based rooftop project. The project will be completed inside the Alternative Energy Lab. The students will then proceed to install, wire, and test the system. The instructor will guide the students as necessary to complete the installation successfully.

Why Study Solar Photovoltaic Systems

If you're looking to upskill or reskill in the area of solar photovoltaic systems, RDP has you covered. Gain the skills needed set to design, install, and provide business case consulting on the use of solar.
