About the Complex Care & Patient Navigator Micro-credential
The Complex Care and Patient Navigator micro-credential course teaches you how to assist patients and their families in understanding and navigating the healthcare system, treatment options, and available resources. You will learn how to coordinate care and support patients in advocating for themselves.
This course will equip you with the skills to analyze and comprehend complex health information, allowing you to guide clients toward informed decisions regarding their healthcare journey. You will gain expertise in managing care coordination with different healthcare professionals.
Every patient has unique needs, and you will acquire the knowledge to understand and navigate those needs by connecting them with culturally and age-appropriate resources and community support, including financial support.

Admission Recommendations
We recommend applicants be registered healthcare professionals in Canada or the USA who are in good standing with their college.
For non-regulated health professionals, we recommend a minimum requirement of (1) a bachelor's degree in a health-related field (i.e. public health, health promotion, psychology (unlicensed), kinesiology (unlicensed), etc., (2) at least one year of relevant health care experience AND (3) extensive knowledge of health care and social services systems, good knowledge of community resources, groups and social network.
