Tom Whitesell

Dr. Tom Whitesell is a biologist who specializes in cellular, molecular, and developmental biology. During his Ph.D., he studied the developmental origins of vascular smooth muscle cells in zebrafish. Tom also teaches Human Anatomy and Human Physiology for both Nursing programs.

Tom has 15 years of research experience in university and government laboratories. In addition to the developmental and molecular biology research completed during his Ph.D. at the University of Calgary, he has spent time conducting research at the Lacombe Research Center (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada) and Concordia University (Montreal). Tom has used a variety of biological organisms for his research, including zebrafish, beef, pork, mice, rats, and ex vivo models.
