Shawna Schnick

Biography

Shawna Schnick joined Red Deer Polytechnic in 2002 as an instructor in the Educational Assistant Program. Shawna is committed to preparing future educational assistants to support diverse learners in inclusive classroom environments.

Shawna received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta with a focus on literacy instruction. With ten years of experience teaching in K-12 classrooms, Shawna developed a deep understanding of the complexities of supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive learning environments. Her passion for education led her to pursue graduate coursework in Educational Leadership, further enhancing her understanding of effective teaching practices and educational administration.

As an instructor at RDP, Shawna integrates her practical experience with evidence-based practices to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of their roles as educational assistants. Driven by her passion for educational excellence, Shawna Schnick is committed to inspiring and empowering the next generation of educational assistants at Red Deer Polytechnic.
