Biography

Mr. Gaston is a director, actor and academic. He is a Canadian Graduate Scholar and the recipient of the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. As an Instructor in the Film Production Program at Red Deer Polytechnic his work focuses on the generation of authentic emotional landscapes for film production and collaborative performance. At the moment, he is completing a number of short experimental films examining emotional memory and a screenplay entitled: Clouds Unknown, loosely based on the aftermath of the Edmonton Tornado of 1987.

Prior to joining RDP, he was an instructor with the Professional Actors Lab (Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles) and a guest director for York University (Lear), the University of Windsor (Little Women) and for The Classical Theatre Project's (Romeo and Juliet) USA tour.

In addition to his academic work, he has over thirty years’ professional experience in the arts, theatre, film, and media sectors in various capacities.
