Biography

Dr. Ashley Moore is a molecular biologist who teaches courses in introductory cell biology, genetics, and molecular genetics. She has research experience (experimental and computational) in the field of molecular genetics, specifically studying the organization, expression, and evolution of genes. 

Her research focused on small ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecules and protist genetics. However, her true passion is science education and teaching undergraduate students. Ashley encourages her students to pursue research opportunities and supervises those who wish to participate in independent research projects. 

Outside of the classroom, Ashley enjoys being involved in science outreach activities and hopes to help increase scientific literacy in the community.
