Julia Rheaume

Biography

Dr. Julia Rheaume is the chair of the Bachelor of Education program. Julia predominantly taught middle school French Immersion math and science for 15 years before becoming a teacher educator at Red Deer Polytechnic in 2010. 

Her experiences as a classroom teacher, high school vice-principal, post-secondary administrator, pre-service and graduate teacher educator, have inspired her interests in teacher education, leadership, assessment, student engagement and middle level education. 

Her doctoral research examined central Alberta middle school administrators’ perspectives on effective middle level education. Julia is passionate about teaching and learning. She thoroughly enjoys being part of preservice teachers’ journey toward a fulfilling career in education.
