Biography

Doug is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Red Deer Polytechnic.

Doug is passionate about supporting the educational experience of RDP students. Doug’s career has long focused on the nexus points between technology and education. Doug taught science and technology at junior high, high school, college and polytechnic levels before moving into the administration of technology solutions for education.

Doug’s career spans work in the private sector and roles in post-secondary institutions at Red Deer Polytechnic, SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) and the University of Calgary.

In his role as the Chief Information Officer at RDP, Doug is focused on supporting innovation at RDP using technology and data for education and administration, while also balancing the protection of the institution from cyber security threats.
